Former Google Lobbyist & Navy SEAL to Keynote BDPA's Regional IT Showcase Luncheon
Harry Wingo is the President and CEO of the DC Chamber of Commerce which is a nonprofit organization located in Washington, DC. He will keynote Saturday's IT Showcase Luncheon during BDPA's Regional TECH Summit and APBI (Advance Program Briefing to Industry) at Bowie State University.
Harry leads a team of professionals in the Nation's Capital to provide Washington businesses with passionate advocacy, valuable networking opportunities, and enlightening educational programs. He knows just how special District businesses are and everything he can do is dedicated to delivering the capital they value. He is committed to helping fellow military veterans with a focus on assisting them with starting up small businesses.
Previously, Harry was the Managing Partner of West River Solutions, a DC-based technology consulting firm focused on cybersecurity. Before that, Harry spent five years in Google's DC office, where he was a Senior Policy Counsel and managed a program to hire military veterans. Harry has also been Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for CURRENT Group, a Maryland-based technology startup, Counsel to the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee, Special Counsel to the General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, a Communications Law associate at the firm of Skadden Arps, and a Judicial Clerk to Judge James Robertson, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Before his career in the technology industry, Harry served for over six years as a Navy SEAL officer and is a graduate of Yale Law School and the U.S. Naval Academy. Harry was born in Washington, DC, where he currently lives with his wife, Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Wingo and daughters Hailey, Alexandra, and Natalie. He is a member of the DC Library Foundation board and serves on the Service Academy Selection Board for Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
