Are you a woman-owned or veteran-owned small business executive seeking to capture a slice of the more than $400 billion dollar federal contracting pie or seeking to carefully craft a new go-to-market strategy for technical private sector engagements? If interested and available, join regional BDPA Members and other successful entrepreneurs this April in Northern Virginia to discover what's new for small businesses under the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2013 and much more...
WASHINGTON, DC--BDPA Members and Small Business Owners in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) are cordially invited to attend the Virginia Business Opportunity Fair (VBOF), April 3, 2013, in Northern Virginia. VBOF is the annual flagship event for the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (VMSDC) and is the Commonwealth's largest conference that connects minority-owned businesses with some of the nation's premiere corporations.
VMSDC Member Corporations
If you are a member of a one-person start-up or have 100 employees in your firm, you are invited to meet directly with notable VMSDC Members familiar to National BDPA across Information and Communications Technology (ICT) high-growth market segments. VMSDC Members include, but are not limited to: Alion Science and Technology, Apple, BAE Systems, Booz Allen Hamilton, CDW Corporation, CGI (formerly Stanley & Associates), Cox Communications, CSC, Dell, Dominion Power, General Dynamics, Harris IT Services, HP, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Pitney-Bowes, Qwest Communications, Raytheon, Sprint-Nextel, and the Xerox Corporation.
Partnering
Each fiscal year, VMSDC Members partner with certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) in direct support of emerging customer demands. Moreover, member corporations must continue to work with Federal agencies to meet or exceed GFY13 small business contracting and participation requirements. According to the Small Business Administration (SBA) table of statutory goals, the Department of Defense (DoD), for an example, is encroaching an aggregate goal of 60% (a 23% set-aside goal for small business prime contracting and a 37% subcontracting goal for small businesses.)
Industry Forecasts
In the new information economy we now live in, supplier diversity at times seems so far beyond our reach; however, the Council has a fast track connector for minority businesses trading in the Commonwealth. Discover new supply chain requirements and small business forecasts directly from Agency representatives at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) [~$59 billion], the United States Army [~$185 billion], the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Four Venues in 2013
To this end, VMSDC's brand new Virginia Business Opportunity Fair in 2013 will span across four regions in the Commonwealth. VBOF 2013 promises to be content-rich with a host of regional speakers with local interests, and direct access to buyers and purchasing representatives for the best matchmaking on the East Coast.
